Description
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Argent, on a bend Tenn a bendlet indented of the field between in chief a bezant fimbriated Sable and in base a stylized antenna of the last.  Attached below the shield a Silver scroll inscribed PERAGITE MANDATUM in Black letters.

Symbolism
The colors silver (white) and orange are used for the Signal Corps.  The yellow disc alludes to the state of California called The Golden State, the units home area.  The antenna, a vital part of communications, and the indented white line, symbolizing an electrical current, refer to the units function.  The motto translates to Speed The Message Thru.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 14 August 1959.  It was rescinded on 15 May 1979.
